The IPMA was originally established to provide an umbrella organization for non REINZ affiliated property managers, offering them the backing of an association providing creditability, support, training and representation at government level in regards to pending changes to the Real Estate Act.
Our vision is to deliver a high degree of ethical responsibility and professional integrity to the industry. Our aim is to ensure the IPMA Logo becomes synonymous with quality and IPMA members are recognized as top performers that the public can rely on and trust with their investment properties.
As we have all heard recently throughout the media, the select committee has been hearing oral submissions on the Real Estate Act. In April two executive members represented the IPMA and presented our oral submission in Wellington. Our representatives, Iona and Nigel Wilson spoke for approximately 10 minutes and then answered questions from the panel for approx 20 minutes. On the surface it appears we were well received but we will be watching this space carefully.
In May we held our AGM, and a new 10 member executive committee was formed. The committee's objectives this year are:
To Increase IPMA membership
To grow the IPMA brand & promote the benefits to property managers of belonging to the IPMA and for private landlords to choose an IPMA property manager
To develop training modules that will provide qualifications to members.
The Association is growing throughout the country and is proud to be promoted as the voice of professional property management for the New Zealand Property Investors Federation (NZPIF).
Please pass on our details to any of your members that you think would be interested in joining the IPMA.
